Is your fantasy of not going back final?
It connects to Le Open Wifi from your neighbours, or adhoc to a TV of the same make, or saves up all the logs and transfers them when the next owner of the TV connects it to their own network.
To be clear: I have no proof of this, but since it is all closed source, we probably will never know.
