  A little more complete quote:

  “The EU remains fully committed to its One China Policy. Within this policy, the EU recognises the government of the People’s Republic of China as the sole government of China,” a Commission spokesperson said in an written statement.

  “Within this policy, the EU and its Member States have an interest in having exchanges with Taiwan, to advance EU interests and within the framework of EU’s One China Policy …

  So this is NOT the same as the People’s Republic of China’s One China Policy. And the parliament and the commission seem to hold opposing views.

  I wonder if the commission is even correct to call this “The EU’s policy” 🤨
