As someone whose brain reaches for rejection sensitive dysphoria by default, you really don’t have to let it devastate you.
Most rejection is rarely directly personal, and if it is, probably for the best anyway

I’ve yet to see any “protect the kids” legislation that isn’t either thinly veiled surveillance overreach or corporate collusion

A good one is saying windows is the best Linux distro because you can just run exes straight from the shell
~/dev/foo $ msbuild.exe MyProject2026UltimatePro.sln | grep Error(s)Try it and confirm there is no god

on Apple May Return to Server Market With Nvidia Technology: The system would be sold to outside customers, potentially bringing Apple back into a business it left behind when it discontinued Xserve. in c/technology@lemmy.world · 16 Sep 2026
I can’t imagine anyone running server farms is particularly hyped about this
Didn’t a load of them get burned pretty badly by apple killing off the last server line and Steve Jobs just told them to cry more when challenged about it

I’d be very surprised if there was anyone on Lemmy that thought Brexit was a good idea given the apparent demographics.
If we’ve got any sense, we’ll either adopt wero or build something compatible with it in some way
Problem is it looks like we’re letting privately owned banks handle it, so it’s going to probably be something that seeks to benefit businesses over consumers

I think people see the word “row” is being interpreted as a horizontal line of content on a feed page because they don’t know the computing definition of “data record”

Part of me wonders what chipset is running that adapter, and if you’d get a better one if you went for a miniSAS adapter rather than individual sata ports (enterprise port generally implying a better controller chip)
Then realised there would probably be no use for such an adapter in enterprise so if you did get a different connector it would probably just be the same interface chip as whatever is in this.

on Spotify threatens industry with ad-skipping tool: "Skip Ahead" is available for Premium users in selected markets, and enables them to skip entire ad breaks, intros, sponsorship messages. in c/technology@lemmy.world · 10 Aug 2026
“premium users”
It’ll probably work like YouTube premium, a cut of that users sub will go to the artist
Anecdotally, creators seem to make more from premium viewers than ad supported ones
This made me look up if you could somehow run it on vacuum tubes, sadly not
