  The claim/fear that Nexus will remove concurrent player counts is literally the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.

  The real reason NexusMods acquiring SteamDB is concerning is because, as stated in their announcement, they’re dedicating an entire team with more resources to keeping it running. This used to be done by one person + donations. So, ads, sponsors, affiliate schemes, and more anti-user plans are being cooked up to make it sustainable.

  It’s a valid concern. Overblown but valid.

• Only the £100 per year figure is true, just about everything else is false. You could get one of the best machines on the planet for £500 until the rampocalypse reached Apple, and it will last a decade or two. And you don’t need a Mac, just a computer.
