Yeah but soon users will start using them too and when confronted they will say they didn’t know and then owners will have to start putting up signs because there is always some people that just lack the basic amount of common sense that is required to grasp this (on top of those who disobey it with bad faith).

Yes and I have almost zero knowledge of hardware. So it might be something obvious but initial buying phase photo suggests you bought a card with 6 sata ports and connected them to the motherboard. Can you just connect sata boards to the mother board just like that without any extra work?

Hah for some reason I thought it was arithmetic underflow but given that the original joke was integer overflow and not arithmetic overflow it makes more sense for it to be integer underflow too. And I agree fits better.

Retrospection is always nice and needed and consumption habits definitely need to change. However there is something to be said of someone who single handedly and deliberately pushes the world towards more and more unsustainable consumption habits because they are playing the world like they are playing a game of monopoly. Imagine opening a supermarket chain in a town with local shops and driving others out of business by creating unfair competition with very low prices (by providing goods from countries with lower wages and questionable production standards). Sure you can also blame the local consumers for being selfish and not owning their community but in some cases people actually have to choose between cheaper grocery prices vs other essentials. And now in this case you are comparing someone who is being selfish because it becomes a matter of providing yourself and your kids with basic necessities vs someone who already has billions but is driving even less sustainable consumption practices because it makes them more money. To me it is clear in this case on whom the bigger part of the blame falls to. Educate people and ask them to do retrospection yes but as long as people like billionaires exist, they will actively look for ways to exploit the system. So they should not exist.
Billionaires can only burn so much oil with their private planes and yachts
Everything aside, if someone is personally consuming yearly the fuel equivalent of hundreds of people, I can still call them a much more selfish person even though on a grander scale that particular impact is negligible compared to totality of commercial flights.

I don’t know, if you actively are reducing your shopping from amazon and try to stay away from their products, I wouldn’t call you a hypocrite for criticising them. And many people now a days are doing just that, so you can’t really assume right from the start that a person is being hypocritical.

The problem is not inherit to AI. The problem is with the people who own the tech and it will much worse if they also own a more efficient version of it. Not that it seems like an immediate threat and I am not even starting to consider the ethical problems with this.

yeah same here, the worst it can do is get in some weird loops to resolve an issue which can normally be resolved by better prompting or pointing it in the correct direction. But it is pretty good with file handling and usage of temp folder. I usually let it do auto but ask it not to implement anything before having a discussion with me so it generally does stuff in scratchpads in temp. One thing annoying about Claude is though when you open the session in a folder to work on a small script it generally goes as “ok let me read everything recursively staring from four parents up to get the context.” Probably can be handled with better config files but I just generally handle couple of initial request manually and then once it is in analysis mode I let it go auto
It is also about AI because they need to have something that removes human accountability.
