So you installed fresh from an ISO downloaded from Microsoft and it didn’t setup Onedrive during install? When was your download? As I said, mine was from around Sept from last year. Or did you use something like Rufus to make an install? MS has said they were doing some deshitification to handle the rampocalpse.
I’d really like to be able to replicate your experience the next time I install Windows.

I don’t have onedrive, i’m not being hounded to set it up, i don’t see it. I don’t have copilot, I don’t have AI, hell I don’t even have any ads in my start menu.
I’m not a Linux cultist but come on. You know it took a lot of configuration from the defaults to get there. Or are you running some special LTSC Win11?

I’m sure they tested it and found that enough customers would stay to make it profitable.
Consumers, especially Apple users, accept higher prices. It’s baffling to me but true.
In 2014, Netflix was $8/month. It’s now 12 years later and Netflix is $20/month.

Yes! Any work created is copyrighted by the owner by default. It doesn’t require registration for legal protection. This needs to be a class action lawsuit from everyone against AI companies that have stolen their content for profit.

I just did. To allow screen readers which is what AI would do if this became a common block it uses this:
" Pressing it sets the reader’s browser to solving a compute-heavy puzzle: JavaScript and a few seconds of processing, more than most mass scrapers are willing to spend."
Which is exactly the method already addressed in the article: " requiring computationally expensive systems to access the content"

I’m on Aaron’s side, but didn’t he break into a network closet and patch directly into their servers?
It’s splitting hairs but the law treats breaking and entering very differently than remote access. When I went to school, I had a job on campus but I’m sure the University would have considered it illegal if I broke into the utility closet of the building I worked in.
