I remember when consumers had power because they refused to buy things. Tech has power because no one will go without. Don’t buy a new phone, computer, tablet, game. Make do with what you already have. Stop approving of everything Tech is doing by buying all their stuff regardless of the enshitification and spyware. Learn how to use cash again or whatever is necessary to stop empowering Tech.

So then don’t swear. It’s easy not to. It looks ridiculous to almost swear. Either do or don’t.

Almost every grocery store has bulk sections. Whether you can use your own container varies but plastic bag is always available.

They allow certain containers. But mostly people use single use plastic bags and create far more plastic film garbage than they would by buying regular packages. One thing you are not allowed to do is to reuse your prior bags - food cleanliness regulations because leftover almonds dust from one week might contaminate this week’s almonds.

on its the end of the rule as we know it in c/onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 24 Aug 2026
We are all so hypocritical about it. Here we all are, online, burning energy (electricity that is often produced by fossil fuel burning) and contributing to that warming. We buy online. We use AI. We fly for travel. But it is always someone else being the problem. We complain about the billionaires but we are all still sending money their way, daily, sometimes hourly because we are addicted to all their online platforms: shopping, gaming, music, media, sports. It has become so ingrained that I don’t know how we get out of it other than a sudden collapse - most likely be someone like Trump or Putin pushing the button. I can see either one of them doing it in their dying breath just to spite the rest of the world.

Need to expand from pulling down camera to pulling down Flock buildings, manufacturing sites, etc.
As of right now, supply is not included either since Belarus already has contract commitments for its entire supply. Maybe next year? Or 5 years from now? Or?
