• This all happens on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. I plead ignorance to “windows, Linux, hotkey combination, MS, KDE,” etc. I have no idea what any of that means. I deliberately have 2 language options installed on my keyboard to amuse my toddler-level proficiency in Russian & use it occasionally for funsies, but to switch languages on my keyboard requires some deliberate effort. Every time it glitches & switches languages on its own in the middle of my thumb pecking out English sentences, it spooks me. And I attribute it to big brother because what else can I do 🤷🏼‍♀️

  Tangential thought: and when I engage with such delicate topics, my keyboard sometimes glitches & spontaneously switches to Russian, and that’s how big brother reminds me they’re watching & listening, so I’d best behave! 😜 Literally happened a few minutes ago on a delicate topic regarding Israel/Palestine genocide 😓 My keyboard glitched & switched to Russian 🤔

• It’s so weird that people who are adults now watched that cartoon when they were children. When that cartoon came out I was a full adult already and couldn’t imagine feeling any nostalgia from it.

• Those tomato slices remind me of two errant tomato slices that landed in the shredded cheese bin at our work salad bar yesterday. I used tongs to put the tomatoes back in the tomato bin with their fellow tomato slices. Was that the highlight of my day? Absolutely not.

• Yes that’s exactly what I mean. It’s disingenuous for YouTube to be doing that, I mean in the grand scheme of things it’s a trifling matter, but it’s a bit of fuckery because algorithms & livelihoods are affected by this nonsense.

• Yes my autoplay is always turned off. I mean when you’re on the home screen it automatically plays, on mute, and not full-screen, whichever suggested video is oriented in the middle of the screen. This isn’t something that can be opted out of.

• I assumed they were already doing that. They’ve never been forthcoming in regards to what actually counts as a view.

  1. Especially weird if I view videos from my own channel, on my end it seems to tally each time I watch my own videos, which isn’t supposed to happen.

  2. And videos I never chose or clicked on automatically start playing as soon as I open the app or switch from “Me” to “Home.”

  3. Or if one person watches a video multiple times, does youtube count each of those views? Because for YouTubers whose livelihood depends on likes & views & subscribers, YouTube needs to make sure a creator isn’t manipulating the system with bot farms or friends/family/paid losers to repeatedly watch the videos.

  Now my brain hurts & I’m grumpy. Bye.
