While I agree that the street-level cameras should urgently be taken care of, don’t underestimate what a stationary aerial drone can do over a couple of hours.
Listen to Radiolab’s Eye in the Sky episode. Think of the possibilities that have opened up because of drone tech in the 10 years since it first aired (and the 20 years since the tech was used in Iraq). It’s truly frightening what these drones will be able to accomplish once they are in place.

Yes, they lie. GrapheneOS is the only fully degoogled android based OS, full stop.
What are they lying about? What part of their OS is not degoogled?

On some technical level you may be correct, but their site claims that /e/os is degoogled.
/e/OS is a “deGoogled” version of Android OS. It has an open-source Android OS core, with no Google apps or Google services accessing your personal data.
- Google default search engine has been removed from the OS everywhere and replaced with our new ethical search engine: Murena Find
- Google Services have been replaced by microG
- Connectivity checks do not use Google servers
- We do not use Google’s Network Time Protocol servers
- We do not use Google’s Domain Name System servers
- Geolocation uses BeaconDB Location Services in addition to GPS
So I would love to know more about what you’re talking about.

Only because Pixels have met their hardware requirements. They are going to start working with Motorola now.
why not their /e/os?
From what I understand, the two OS are not aiming for the same objectives. /e/os is a degoogled OS and that’s its main purpose. GrapheneOS is focused on hardening security on AOSP.

You started this off claiming that this person is equivalent to an antivaxxer. You’ve repeatedly dismissed their claims/thoughts based on credentialism without demonstrating why. Now you’re telling them to calm down. I’m not even the person you’re arguing with here and I’m getting mad lol.

Not only that but they got data from all of that slop to see which slop got engagement and which did not. Now they can use that data to generate more convincing slop.
This stood out to me. Call me cynical, but I don’t think this is a mistake. I think they’re calling all of these “misidentified” license plates a “license plate” to simply establish plausible deniability for collecting this data. It would be pretty trivial for their backend system to interpret the images server side and build an identification profile for each vehicle. This way, even if you remove your plate, your vehicle can be identified.
I wonder how quickly they could build a profile on every vehicle in the US simply by having cameras up in every major city? When we defeat flock/axon, what’s stopping the next surveillance company from buying that data and using it?
