Our robotification shall become farther out of reach of worth, into redundancy, revealing our real worth.

Yeah for sure there’s a mix, different usecases, and it’s just handy to illustrate the other extremes, to elucidate others of the existence of these other paradigms otherwise beyond their ken. Some of them may indeed likewise have been a star shaped peg trying to fit in a square shaped hole, not realising there are ways that fit them better.

I know for a fact that if I was a parent I wouldn’t want my kids near that crap.
Yeah, it’d be some kind of non-mamalian (let alone inhuman) approach, to let your offspring freely frolic in dire dangers, and not actively protect and educate them. Roads. Crocodile infested rivers. Corporate “Social Media”.

Even after explaining what I would have done to them,
with that data, if I had the data, when I worked in advertising… [or even just explaining their basic human dignity of privacy]… the rhetoric remains strong enough to not have the cognitive dissonance be itchy enough to stop fallaciously repeating their mantra “nothing to hide”,
… and so that’s why they’re fine with this dystopian nightmare, this single point of failure, this hijacking of humanity by totalitarian government (or at least just megalomaniacal parasites wanting total dominating control, even in banal mundane petty ways, like just doing their job, serving their client as best they can, maximally manipulating mentalities to maximise wealth extraction)?
It does not make sense.
As for who’s on social media… yeah, maybe lets not have a corporate attention snare that learned from the billions invested in Las Vegas casinos for their ability to snare and direct peoples attention, keeping them going back in for more, keeping them addicted, maximally extracting wealth from them. “Social media”, such an Orwellian marketing spin term. … The ambiguity and resulting conflations help camouflage what the crooks are up to. Not all “social media” are alike. As surely we here on the fediverse know.
Children should not be on “social media”? Depends what one means… but typically I’d say children are due the same rights, and are not to be under classed. Y’know? Wanna take away children’s access to parts of the world? The parts that can be used for good too? … I just picture what that different world’s like, where Aaron Swartz gets denied access to something even younger… where that precedent goes, how much worse the dystopia can be, compared to what it already is. … Or… as you allude to… How much more fervently pursued, freedom is, by the young, the tighter they squeeze.

So much exhausting bureaucratic organisational downtime in college between ladles of info, perchance you’re fit for it when they pour it, compared to just freely swimming in the ocean of information.
It takes some kind of self motivation, be that curiosity, dedication, purpose or something else.
Then it’s not just faster, it’s broader, deeper and further, than narrow metric matching of industrial “educations”'s specialisation’s maximal-ignorance-bar-one; than is sought in employment roles that simply seek a degree. Also then there’s the perspectives that value education above mere preparation for employment roles.

Leave [that] school.
You can learn more, faster, at your own pace, with a library card and an internet connection (if you use it like a library, not like TV).
You could also try walking your teacher through the user agreement… paying special attention to the deal with the devil clause, where they can change the agreement after you agree. And the parts about how they use all your data, and how they consider your emails their property after 90 days, and and and… So many egregious points. So against the spirit of pedagogy that any educational institute should be about.

Or if on bedrock, fetch/import a stratum of something Arch based to access the AUR.
I was doing that. Artix (and Arch before it) always been a cornerstone of my bedrock installs. No more now after the AUR’s troubles. Now I have a tripod of Gentoo, Devuan, and Void. Making do without the AUR. Can, but won’t.

I had a fellow linux user friend of over a decade convince me to try go no swap for a change.
I pebkac’d the system before it got a chance to fall foul of having zero swap.
… My next computer even before that pebkac, has swung the other way… >3X RAM amount of swap (And that’s on twice the RAM too. Mmm. Roomy.). Not going back to no swap. I prefer the headroom.
With fast drives snug on the mainboard, it doesn’t hurt dipping into swap.

same as bedrock linux came before bedrock version of minecraft for linux.
minecraft ((at least) twice) further confounded searches for the already obscure foss tools.
mc = midnight commander.
mcedit = midnight commander’s inbuilt text editor.

Which text editor do you use?
- Emacs mostly
- sometimes fin for configs and some other small file tweaks and when developing/testing fin,
- sometimes mcedit just because it’s an awesome under sung hero of easy tui text editors. … beats nano imo.
- sometimes leafpad, like when i need some intermediary between things that are being stubborn to paste between
- rare neovim, like when i’m trying to learn neovim, or trying something that only neovim has
- rare nano… there are probably still times…
- once kate to see what it was like, I liked it, then I added the features I liked to emacs.

The potential for irony now, seems obvious…
