My washer/dryer is “smart” and there’s no convenience there at all, honestly. It argues with me, it sits and flashes suggestions freezing the entire interface, it decides to just not do things at times. It’s hella annoying.

I’m rather amused that there’s no land there. I’m sure there’s lots of reasons, like not being able to accurately put all landmass on there, there being arguments about why certain landmass is the focal point etc. but without any land it feels like the flag belongs to the oceans.

Ah, it depends on the type of basil. This is a variety called mammoth, or lettuce leaf because of how large the leaves are. It’s not the same as genovese.

I enjoy making my pesto thicc, and then I serve it with lots and lots of fresh, juicy tomatoes. Used to grow this massive basil. I’d grab a few leaves and quickly whip up some pesto with that. So good.

Several communities have grouped together to protest the efforts. In face of a common enemy and all that. That’s the one good thing to have come out of all this bullshit; some class camaraderie that crosses the lines of political parties.
That’s not me saying that it wouldn’t have been better had this bullshit never come around.

In my experience the coop is hella buggy. The person I’m playing with has a rather rocky internet connection though, so I think a decent amount of it is because of that. The netcode certainly isn’t optimised, and whenever something is simulated on my friend’s computer, I basically have to give up the idea of interacting with it whatsoever.
Even so, I’m having fun with it.

It’s not a stretch, it’s entirely false.
It’s like saying that Microsoft Windows is open source because you can run the binaries on your own computer.
At best it’s a misunderstanding of what open source is, at worst it’s a wilful misinterpretation to try and paint these models in an undeserved better light.

Det innebär ju att folket måste utbilda sig och engagera sig politiskt. Troligtvis kommer det inte att hända, i och med att folk inte har tid eller ork.
Som resultat blir det antagligen väldigt få som engagerar sig, och om fler engagerar sig så röstar de på den propaganda som har mest pengar bakom sig, precis som idag.
Tror inte att direktdemokrati skulle göra så stor skillnad.

Yeah. I mean I’m grateful I struggle with things here, because I’ve seen what it can look like in the U.S. - visited a dear friend in 2019, and despite having two people work four jobs they still couldn’t really make ends meet. It’s heartwrenching.
Struggle is always struggle. I hope things improve for all of us.

History is written by the victors, and the luddites lost. That’s why they’re maligned as backwards idiots who didn’t want tech to succeed.
They weren’t stupid. They knew precisely what was going to happen, and did their best to stop it. Generally they took care to target only machines as their goal wasn’t to harm people but to remain employed, and have money to survive with. Naturally there were exceptions, and sometimes people did get hurt.
But then, the bourgeoisie enacted law to prevent this where destroying mechanical looms became punishable by… oh let’s see…
The act, as passed, made the destruction of mechanised looms […] a capital felony (and hence a crime punishable by death).
Right! Death! Destruction of company property became punishable by death.
And people did die. Children died. Mind you, back then workers were anyone capable of working, and they had no rights. They didn’t vote for the people who passed this act; workers weren’t supposed to have a voice, and so the only recourse was rebellion.
This didn’t stop things immediately, there’s quite a lot of really cool worker history here, but eventually the government sent in the military and couple that with nothing really changing despite widespread rebellion, the luddite movement fizzled out.

I grew up in poverty, I know what this social safety net looked like 20 years ago. It’s been hollowed out by a decade of alt-right governance since. They’ve pushed the non-white welfare king/queen narrative hard.
Living on subsistence minimum isn’t really a comfortable life. You have to constantly apply for it and get scrutinised, and sometimes you get automatically denied because the government has applied a quota that försäkringskassan has to fill; it’s luck of the draw.
It’s certainly not something I’d ever view as a nice stress-free fallback to recover from, it’s a full-time job in and of itself, and that’s not counting the critique you have to put up with from society for using the system as it is intended.

Ish. Current retirees are covered by current taxpayers. My retirement will be covered by future taxpayers. This has lead to the retirement age being bumped up a couple of times the past few years, because there’s not enough taxes coming in to cover retirement. I don’t expect to ever actually retire.
The average pension income currently is 16400 crowns a month before taxes. My rent is 8.4k and it goes up with several hundred a year. Pensions generally remain fairly static.
By insurance I guess you mean healthcare. This is largely true, we have a high-cost protection, and that includes visits so if you buy enough meds or visit the doctors enough each year, the high cost protection kicks in, it’s currently at approximately 3000 crowns.
My a-kassa isn’t free, nor is it tax funded. I personally pay for that on a monthly basis. It’s also tied to you looking for work.
There are upsides and downsides to everything. Things get bad here, too.

I have daily voice calls, usually several times a day.
Seems like my country has mostly moved back to offices now though and finding remote contracts is tough. Man I miss the pandemic. Not the death and suffering, just the compassion some people showed others. Sure there was a lot of people who just lost their minds entirely, but I feel like the overall sense of community was better back then.

3D modelling has nothing to do with prompts and tuning models. The output is objectively garbage to anyone with even passing knowledge of the subject.
Just like with anything machine generated, it’s always really capable and will completely dominate the market, but only to the layperson who has no fucking clue what they’re talking about.
