I think DtRH’s coverage of these things serve as good modern morality tales. Show them to dumb kids that want to be “content creators.” Fredrik’s already said he’s done covering lulcows for the most part. Unless something unique comes along like Nigel Cheese for example.

I might be confused about something. I’m assuming “owners community” means people that bought smart tvs and kept them offline for privacy reasons. Those types are the sort of people who do think about those things.

Remotes aren’t complicated enough to hide the microphone. It’s more likely that tvs ditch the remote entirely and be voice controlled only, mute people be damned.

Knowing Star Wars, I’m sure there’s a novel explaining the corporation that manufactures those boxes, explains how they’re centuries old company, how they’re considered very reliable and long lasting, and how the family that owns the company had a big spit when the father wanted to cozy up to the Empire and how the son wanted to help the Rebels.

That exists already. Archive.org has a digitization service, but then archive.org would put a public copy up and the AIbros wouldn’t be the sole owners of that training data.
There’s also methods to digitize books without destroying the book and for the purpose of AI training that should be more then sufficient. AIbros are just so arrogant to think that other people haven’t solved the problem already or that their time is too valuable to be slowed by proper methods.

For me, the hypothetical appeal of Smart Glasses would be to identify the things in my environment and point them out. That requires a camera. I’m not remotely interested in having augmented reality glasses enough to give a corporation my data like that.

I replay it every now and then as a part of my normal rotation. I still can never remember what the final boss is like. The mid game tower boss is much more memorable. The core problem with Q4 is it had an idenity crisis. It was trying to be a classic Quake game, a CoD-like and a Halo-like all at the same time.
I would say it’s the same as just leaving your billing details in, but I wouldn’t trust Sony not to leak that info even if I owned a PlayStation.
