  We used to have a pretty decent information indexing system that people seem to have forgotten, it was called Google and it used to be pretty awesome at that task, before it became evil and greedy and started caring more about ad revenue than actual search results.

• Price is irrelevant to me when most of my consumer electronics were acquired very cheap or free, usually with faults, that I repaired. I’m sure there are also plenty of older, still-working TVs available second hand that aren’t loaded with spy gadgets.

• They are wrong, you can buy digital downloads from other platforms like GOG, Itch.io, Humble Store, and keep the files forever. There is no DRM on those purchases, no way for the seller to revoke it in any way. Sony could operate their store that way too but choose not to.
