• Or doing it for “attention”. Or “it’s just a phase”. I’m not trans, but I have two neurons and I see the account of soul searching, anguish and then rejection, discrimination and downright hatred trans people go through. I don’t think anyone would choose such a path if the other option, living hidden away, aka “”normally””, was manageable.

• The metaphor of the open seminar is misleading. In an open seminar, the presenter stake a claim to the work, even if incomplete. In this case, the work was in private repositories. A more precise methodology would be the AI overhearing the authors discussing in their office and using that as base for a proof. This is even sneakier because there has been no public claim of the method or results by the authors.

• It’s difficult, because consent can be revoked at any time. So you could sign a contract em and then revoke consent (or others could use this to void the contract).

  This is why, in many countries with euthanasia laws, euthanasia is assisted suicide in the literal sense as well; the person dying needs to physical pull the trigger.
