Renewable energy seems to be a big one
Once they excluded the shit I didn’t want, I didn’t go any further into it

I am lucky enough to live in a civilised country, rather than 'Murica
My retirement fund is an ethical one. They don’t invest in firearms, tobacco, oil or any of the other shitty things out there

I’m in Australia, and yet, I manage just fine
You’re making excuses. You know what you are doing.

on Three reasons Europe learned to distrust Big Tech before America did in c/europe@feddit.org · 12 Sep 2026
Because everything that 'Murica embraces should be seen as something to be avoided
It’s a stupid excuse for a country that should serve as a warning rather than an example

I don’t use Amazon, and I never have
Everyone using them is complicit.
People are so willing to cast others aside for their own convenience and justify it by saying “other people are doing it too”

on Trump administration to confront Australia over Labor’s social media algorithm plan in c/technology@lemmy.world · 11 Sep 2026
He lives in paradise, and yet he’s such a loser that he yearns to live under the boot of ‘Murica
I think it’s because he’s stupid
It could be something else, but Occam’s razor and all that
I guarantee that he hasn’t spent enough time in’ Murica to know what life there is really like
Unfortunately, I have

Idiots like this are the worst thing about Australia

It’s quite readily available

I have two things that I subscribe to
My coffee (all ethically sourced, compostable pods, not “nespresso” and owned by Australians) and my wine club (buying excess stock with spelling mistakes on the labels etc. that would otherwise be scrapped)
I don’t pay for TV or movies or music. I listen to the radio.

Odious shit like this is why the civilised world can’t take 'Murica seriously
Now, please tell us how we’re all in danger because we don’t all carry firearms

Tell an ignorant simpleton that, and they’ll love you forever, just so long as they can keep hating

Because the universe doesn’t care. There’s no divine justice, no balancing of good and bad luck, no cosmic scales weighing behaviours
Religion is for the weak-minded
I make my own luck where I can, and I am grateful for the happenstances that have benefited me
If you expect a sky-daddy to help you out, you get what you deserve

It’s almost as though religion is all bullshit or something…
That last sentence speaks volumes as to your character
And it is wanting.
