They should farm Windows 12 out to Bungie and then shut them down too.

on Datacenter rush will create ‘tsunami’ of discarded electronics, report says in c/technology@lemmy.world · 16 Sep 2026
I remember as a kid my mum getting angry that she had to buy a new vacuum cleaner with more non-replaceable plastic parts. She was used to being able to just get a guy to fix it. It’s sad that that’s just everything now - even cars.

on Wait, there's books and classes on linux? in c/linuxmemes@lemmy.world · 14 Sep 2026
I have a linux sysop manual from 1999 somewhere. Probably because I was that friend you were always trying to lure away from Windows with Red Hat dual boots and “look Starcraft plays great on Wine!”.

Is this a real review or one of the mentals who decided months ago that this game is “woke” because they don’t like Insomniac’s face designs, who have been feverishly seeking confirmation bias ever since?

I still have my N64 and carts so this will never truly supplant the real thing. Might be more interested in playing Majora’s Mask again on Switch 2 if they did that.

I agree there’s basically no such thing. Always at least double the cloves the recipe specifies.

on Video games in c/gaming@lemmy.world · 7 Sep 2026
It’s pretty hilarious to me the mental gymnastics some people will go through to refuse to admit that the gameplay is hugely improved in the sequel just because they don’t like one thing that happened in the story.

This is why I’ve never paid above half price for an online store game once. (Also all video games are digital, so I guess he’s saying we don’t own even old carts as the means to play them will one day stop working)

on Take-Two CEO Says We'll All Be Streaming Our Games In 3 Years in c/games@lemmy.world · 10 Aug 2026
The speed of light will still be in effect on three years, so we’ll all be watching streamers who built their PC before the rampocalypse play the latest games that we’ll never be able to afford.
I particularly appreciate the elaborate feather cuts they’d have in that era where it looked like they’d just walked out of a two hour salon session in every single scene.
