It’ll be interesting to see how this is worded such that the legislation bans these glasses without banning police body cameras and without stating yet another privilege that comes with being law enforcement.
Before anyone misreads the above and thinks it’s an endorsement of these glasses or their frequent use for perverted purposes: it’s not.

I’ve often seen it adjusted for things like Reddit as such:
90% of users only view
9% of users vote
1% of users comment

Interestingly enough, old.reddit users are in the single digit percentages:
Even if they weren’t hostile towards old.reddit (the ads are far less invasive and effective), they could make a strong argument for not wanting to support a dwindling, tiny userbase.

Depends on your exit node.
Also if you change the front page to be US-specific it’ll force a login.
As usual, people in the US get the shaft when it comes to privacy things.

Imagine being left out of the sexual predator club and being upset about it.

Yeah I admit my comment didn’t get into the nuance of “pedophile” versus “child sex predator” and thus has gaps to fill, but one can only spend so much time on the internet.
Plus I’m used to Reddit (and other, more normie spaces) where making that distinction tends to bring on pedophile accusations.

I suspect the exclusivity is part of why they enjoy it. See POTUS’s handwritten letter to Epstein on his birthday.
-
The Epstein class would much rather stay out of the reach of the law even if it means some of their cohorts get away with rape.

A certain unknowable % of the population is afflicted with pedophilia.
If you give a random person enough power (money/authority/prestige/etc.) to take advantage of children, there is approximately that same % chance of them exploiting that power, minus whatever fear they have of consequences.
Parents, please monitor your children’s social media. If you’re too busy, don’t let them be on social media. They might face a bit of social stigma for not being on the latest brainrot app, but it’s better than them being in the DMs of their favorite video game creators.
I know the intent, I’m just speculating as to what the design will be.
Unless you’re hinting at that design being that it could explicitly state that “hidden” cameras are banned, at which point we have to get into the weeds of what’s considered “hidden.” Meta’s lawyers will of course argue that:
The lens is very visible
The additional bulky asymmetric frame gives away that there’s a computer
They’re so famous that everyone knows they’re Meta Glasses at a glance, which comes with recording implications
Body cameras aren’t as obviously body camera as you think; my lapel speaker/microphone was regularly confused for a body camera.
