• LLMs demonstrate knowledge not intelligence.

  LLMs are basically giant knowledge databases with no intelligence. They know a lot of things but they don’t understand stand any of it.

  Because fundamentally they can’t understand things. They can only approximate understanding.

  It’s no different then if I asked someone to prove 2+2=4. They could tell me that yes that’s correct, because they know it. But they couldn’t explain it properly. Let alone explain why it also isn’t always true.

  Hallucinations are fundamentally the disconnect from knowledge and understanding. Everything a LLM says from its point of view is “true” it’s only stating factual knowledge so far that it has it in its data set.

  But with out understanding, it can’t tell when that knowledge wanders from a 99% likelihood to be accurate to 60% or 20%. Because it doesn’t actually understand what it’s saying.

  It can only state subjective not objective truth. And subjective truth is no better than a fiction with out understanding.

  This is why they need a human minder to keep track of the output to correct it back to optimum output when it starts to wander.

  That’s a poor example of what your talking about.

  You need someone niche and narrow that has a much smaller sample size. It would be more like asking for a generic description of one persons fursona with out naming it. And the model spitting out a almost 1:1 copy of a real preexisting art work on the fursona. Because the model only has that one picture to base things off of. Which is a real problem.

  It’s also the best way to tell if a model was trained on something specific. General prompts aren’t going to get you anything beyond just the fact that yes. X thing is popular enough that everyone and their grandmother creates content on it.

• Unfortunately that’s not really how the actual data is stored. Functionally there is no CSAM at all in its “databanks”. Once Info goes through training what comes out the other side is just a mass of goop.

• The amount of effort it requires to create a useable work flow built around a genAI llm as the core instead of just a tool in the work flow is absurd.

  It basically takes three times the effort to get good results out of it when compared to doing it the old fashion way.

  And both require you to still actually understand art to actually produce good results. You can’t just tell an ai to shit out a picture and have it be good. No more then you can tell an artist to just shit out a picture and have it be good.

  Both require you to actually put effort in, go though the process and make mistakes fix them. Go back and forth and test ideas.

  And that’s the fundamental problem. GenAI is only good enough to at best do the equivalent of a rushed first draft with flat colors. It’s “good enough” not actually good.

  And the sort of people using genai arnt the sort of people who are going to go back and edit or clean up the picture. To test and try different things. Hell they aren’t even going to be the sort that custom tunes their model to actually produce what they want.

  They just take what ever generic shit model they can find and run with it.

  The difference between a generic model and custom trained one is night and day after all. But again the fucking idiots using gen AI ain’t gonna bother to do that let alone know how.

  Prompt jockeys are the least qualified people to use genAI. It’s comical.

They pretty much only ever care about the actual final result and maybe at most a name attached to it because it’s of value in some nebulous fashion. Not the reason why that value is there. • To be fair, the issue is basically that it didn’t look good enough. Just look at the backlash expedition 33. Games still beloved and came in as one of the best jrpgs ever made made that AI usage. The only problem was that people noticed the AI usage.

  As long as it’s just a tool and it’s transparent like any other tool and people have no f****** issue with it.

  That’s just literally a fact.

  It also doesn’t help the ai models in charge of the summaries on most search engines are some of the stupidest lowest quality pieces of shit we have.

  A model told to actually do a search properly is functionally no different than if you or I did it. And will actually be able to do the job properly. They are very good at this sorta work load.

  It’s aggressively poor as a platform for history channels. And while foreign politics are fine. Anything Chinese poltic related gets nuked from the platform aggressively.
