I think people who have never driven one or feel uncomfortable getting one and gets one because they feel they’re getting more for their money shouldn’t be driving them at all.
I think people who want one should rent one that way they have practice and they have to be careful with the vehicle because it’s on loan but the one thing I noticed when just about everyone switched to mini-suv’s and full sized ones and trucks, that there’s more people who have never driven one in their life and it’s noticeable.
I just don’t want to be hit by someone who has no idea how to manage driving one because of their size and depth perception being thrown off other than that who gives a fuck what people drive. If someone wants to drop money on something stupidly oversized and uses a fuckload of gas, let em.

Yeah just now lol, I was being over the top and cynical when I wrote that. Like how whenever shit like this gets brought up, usually there’s that one person who brings up, “the matrix.” No but when they run out of stem cells, they’ll turn on an artificial womb and make more fetal tissue to work with and then people will go up in arms over the fact that, “human life,” is being used to support data centers when in reality it’s just the cells that can be influenced.
and I mean those are also good questions. like will I be able to get a premium for giving a loved ones body to data centers for battery, rather than cremation or burial? what would happen if they decided to make mini brains and they created a brain that has mental illness or delusions and decides humans are no longer needed?
imagine them growing multiple personality brains and one day it’s on manic and we’re all in a happy economy and the next it’s depressive and we’re wondering if the bombs will drop. that’s a genuine fear because of how fast people are driving ai expansion they’re not 100% thinking about the repercussions.

modern ones are soldered directly to the board and integrate bluetooth into the same chip and removing that chip form the board could remove the ability to use bluetooth functions and the remote, however!!! most have usb ports!!! lets make new operating systems and fucking delete their file system, load a new os that lacks the abilities these manufactures have.
The hardware is whatever but if we remove the file systems that its preloaded with it won’t be able to load any of its preinstalled shit. If we mod the operating system we can mod some of the shit the hardware is capable of doing through the software and coding. Kinda like how windows 11 is known for lowering ram speed.

Yeah maybe there’s way to make a file explorer for them. Maybe there’s ways to jailbreak them. We focus on phones a lot, webos was on the hp bought out palm phones back in the 2010’s.
We find out the operating systems, we jailbreak them and completely remove their programming and then, in-turn we can mess with hardware settings.
So let’s start making a TV Linux that doesn’t suck or make an Ubuntu TV version or a KDE TV version.
They can’t force people into using their OSes forever. The only thing I know is it’s like Pandoras battery trying to disable the wifi from the hardware.

That’s an example of what could happen. Lessening the impact to have it so that your skull isn’t bouncing off the ground, can reduce the possibilities of this happening.

Helmets I’m more ambiguous on. They’re usually a good idea, but you could say the same for people walking or driving.
Yeah true but you’re not exposed to the environment going over 20mph in a car vs on a moped or motorcycle. Like if you’re riding a moped or a motorcycle, you should be wearing a helmet. You may not come out looking the same if you fall on your face but your odds of surviving without a brain injury are higher, than if you didn’t wear a helmet.
Then again, the only place on Earth where having a vending machine that’s hooked up to city water and a tank in a locked box that has a sterilizing agent and sprays helmets in a vending machine for blue bike users, would be Japan. - Someone take this idea.

I meant the ebikes or ecycles but I guess times have changed. Back when I was a kid we didn’t have ebikes only the pedal bikes. Those aren’t any safer, I guess I’m just not with the times.

Yup, where I am e-mopeds are a hazard more than the ebike riders. Fat tire e-bike riders aren’t around as much as they used to be because I’m guessing they figured out they’re not easy to pedal if the battery dies.
The scooters are around they’re chill.
The e-mopeds riders I’ve seen are all impatient and go full throttle on the trail.
It’s 15mph on the trail. Usually 5mph on the turns.

I just don’t think children should be using them and I think anyone whose uses them should be wearing a helmet. I think law enforcement should ask people to dismount their escooter or ebike if they’re not wearing a helmet and issue warnings or citations. I’m not usually in favor of making rules and stuff but it’s just like, we got one thing to protect our skulls if we’re on things that can go 28mph which is fucking fast and requires time to slow down then, maybe making the helmet mandatory isn’t bad.

Okay so I figured it out a while back and an old manic-depressive friend always used to tell me there’s no point to that show, it’s a nonsense show; He’s so wrong and always has been, I always tried to tell him if you paid attention to the story line and not the trippy shit, you’ll realize season 1 is about Xavier trying to live the life that he has created for himself through his own previous misfortunes and follows the search for the father’s killer. Season 2, is about Xavier figuring out who he once was and is trying to connect to his past and is on the search for an ultimate connection to his past and inner self until he realizes he’s been insane the whole time.

You know what AI reminds me of? That Xavier the renegade angel episode where the monks built that machine to do the monk chants for them and all but two monks remained afterwards and the two that were left in the monastery were playing video games and had put on weight. And the monks said something like: surely engaging in western luxuries will not make us lazy.

As long as AI doesn’t become the standard way of correcting a bug or coding Linux shit then it’s whatever. If they end up as bad as Microslop, then we’re gonna have to make hardened rules around the Distros that can and can not have AI, fixing issues.
I mean… I’m not gonna lie on the flipped coin of that sentiment, I would love to see a Linux OS built entirely by Ai.
It’s kind of like fuck Ai taking over the movie industry but I would love to see a documentary about the AI pasta eating evolution of will smith but created with AI.

I stupidly love Ubuntu because to me it’s still Debain but easy.

Nahhh they just tanked it. They knew they were going out of business and within the last two years of them being around they stopped giving an absolute fuck. The people who cared what they did and had a passion for electronics were the most helpful individuals and were better than best buy. Best Buy was just really good for its TV and surround sound deals but then again Circuit City, Sears and Kmart competed with TV’s.
Idk man, best buy is a husk of a once-was electronics mega store and it’s sad to have seen it. I saw the isolated rooms with low lights playing star wars on the newest TV technologies of the time in 2000 and then saw it die some 12 years later.
Either way, circuit city was more accessible of a store and it’s layout was better. Best buy is now like Walmart and home depot, a reseller.

I miss Circuit City, a Circuit City Employee helped me turn a dvd player into a screen for my GameCube. 😔. My PalmOne Tungsten|C was from there. They used to fight for your warranty. I miss them so much.

National average it’s 55¢ to run 3kw on 3phase electricity for an hour. Offshore areas like Hawaii and Alaska see higher costs like 1.60$/hr per 3kw on 3phase electricity but Alaska has a higher natural gas usage and Hawaii is further away from the CONUS electrical grid. National average per 24/hrs of charging is a little over 13$ with 3kw at 3phase.

LibreWolf has it pre-installed and is Open-source. It worked on waterfox an Open-source fork of Firefox, last time I tried.
As for Vivaldi I guess use Brave instead.

is not a community it’s a hivemind. here, there’s communities and some have hiveminds but not all of them and most of them don’t. Like you can say your new here and be welcomed and not just like be shut up. I could get down voted 50 times here and someone will still see what I said and that’s what matters.
It’s relaxing here and it feels like I could ask something and get real responses or when I get called out for not knowing something here I go and look it up. I just think this place has that feeling of I can just chill and it’s nice.

I thought that it had evolved into a bot parliament.
It did. The moderation filters that are supposed to ban people for rule breaking are automated by bots and the appeals are also ran by bots. They made it so all accounts are tied to a single, making it so if you had alts to bypass the ban, they banned those too and don’t give you any time to appeal again.
There’s also too many things you can get banned for now and because it’s all automated now, Lemmy, is the last vestige of being able to speak your mind and there’s no hive mind here.

Reddit is a hive-mind bullshit area where if you don’t agree on everything you’re attacked in a way where if you retort to what could very well be be perceived as cyber bullying, you’re banned. If you retort to anything by speaking your mind, you’re banned or blocked from the community.
It’s full of pieces of shit, even the bass guitar community, it’s all people telling other people who go there for advice to go to another forum or identifying bass guitars that google lens can figure out by model number.

Lmfao, here comes manufactures selling their own versions of Debian and Fedora. I bet we’re going to see a rush of manufacturers selling blank no OS PC’s with hardware being the only added on cost.
My mom did well but was modest and didn’t have a huge house and never spent money on things we didn’t need. She was frugal with spending and showed how to stack coupons. We used to get 500$ worth of clothes for like 180$.
Tj Maxx and Marshall’s were my shit!!! You could find the coolest stuff on the clearance rack.
I didn’t grow up super poor but we didn’t live like stereotypical rich people either.
