there are people sitting alone in vehicles all night keeping an eye on things (probably to prevent copper theft, homeless trashing it, etc). I’ve often wondered if they’re bored out of their minds and would appreciate conversation, but I’ve never stopped just in case it alarms them.
Can confirm, those jobs will slowly eat away at your soul. At first it’s easy money, but I noticed after a while my mental health was really going downhill. So glad I don’t do those kind of jobs any more, podcasts only help so much lol

I absolutely borrow happiness from tomorrow, I very much do pleasurable things in the moment at the expense of a long life because we’re looking at a climate apocalypse in my lifetime, and I actively do not want to live through that. If I can have a shorter, but more pleasurable life before shit really hits the fan it seems like a fair trade. I do try not to go overboard or let it control me though because there lies misery.
Sometimes you don’t even have to ask, a small group of girls in primary school would often say “eww, Jimbo” when they saw me. I literally didn’t do anything.
Jokes on them, I got much more handsome as I grew up and was apparently desired by the girls and didn’t notice because I was so not interested.
