If you consider what companies pay for the subscription you will see that the hardware prices aren’t really the issue here.

Iffind rust interesting but I don’t use it enough to know anything deep about it.
All I know is that I am not made for c++.
Hell I can’t keep track of pointers and scopes. And who the hell made templates?

on Your LG TV Might Be Spying on Your Entire Network While You Think It's Turned Off in c/technology@lemmy.world · 8 Sep 2026
For now the only known thing to do that works is for it to never to be connected to any network.
Also if a smart tv was connected to the WiFi there is a possibility it won’t forget that until factory reset.

on Fairphone Is Finally Selling Its Repairable Phone in the US in c/technology@lemmy.world · 20 Aug 2026
That is not what I meant.
I don’t see the reason to add it back for a few people. While most don’t ever will need it

Mh true. An usb c Adapter with aux and usbc inside of the case of the phone would be cool I think. Then you can easily add it to the phone where most people won’t need it. And you don’t have to redesign the whole phone for the audio jack

I see many people complaining about phones not having an audio jack anymore. But really I don’t think it would make that much sense add one to the phone. The only thing I could see is to make the usb c modular like framework did.

on California just passed a law forcing mandatory DRM in 3D printers in c/technology@lemmy.world · 17 Aug 2026
What you don’t understand is that this is only about guns on the surface. This will enable every 3d printer manufacturer to harvest tons of data from everyone. To a point where the printer can not work without a connection to the server for security reasons by law.
You could buy a metal pipe and fill it with gun powder and you have a cheaper and more robust gun than a 3d printer could ever build.

Can I sue AI because of its “errors”?
No of course not its a tool you can’t sue a tool.
Oh so I can sue the user of the tool. The one using it is responsible?
Naaahhh it was AI it all did it by itself we can’t do anything about it.
