The only way for these fancy text generators to do dangerous shit is if you hook up its fancy text to something that does dangerous shit.
If you connect an LLMs output up to a car, then give it any prompt other than the most basic. Dont be suprised when it starts driving the bloody car!
Load a pistol and give it to a baby, it will eventually pull the bloody trigger! Not because of intelligence or some sadistic streak to kill all humans, just by doing what children do.

They probably scaned a manuscript from some unheard of eastern european mathmatician that wrote in some long forgoten Cyrilic “heres how you can work it out. Im going to leave working out the cypher as an excercise for the reader… Look, its a cypher, its easier to prove the math that solves it than it is to acctually solve it. Thats how cyphers work”

The wiki referance linked and subsequent article talk about trackers on the DDG browser not about search queries. DDG have a corperate license with Microsoft, sure, but any amount of line reading on or between seems conspirital at best.
Looks like this corperate contract with Microsoft is a secret especially if you have to “between the lines” read about a completly seperate product.
And i go to a publicly hosted instance of searxng and immediatly get told the past 10 search queries? Dosent seem magicaly private to me. To which your response might be "its designed to be selfhosted. " Sure that maybe the case, but we are just putting extra lines on this social contract to read between now. Not terrible but not perfect, which is the same area DuckDuckGo is playing in so i am prepared to take them at their word.

Sure, duckduckgo dosent have their own web crawlers. Duckduckgo uses someone elses index in this case Microsofts. This dosent mean they sell your data to microsoft or that your search queries fingerprint you the same way as microsoft. They just use microsoft’s big list of websites

Its one of those things right?
If AI was so great we should be seeing OpenAI and Anthropic investing in high schools and Universities, “the next generation” so to speak. If AI is “so cool” we should be seeing investment in the next generation to use it. But we are not seeing that, OpenAI got $50 billion from Nvidia and all of that went on Nvidia GPUs, none of it went towards the people who will be using it in 20 years!
You have this thing that a lot of very rich people think is going to be biger than the printing press or the internet and they are not facilitating people to learn it… Their moto seems to be “build it and they will come”.
Think what you want about AI… “It is the best thing since sliced bread” or “it is the Anti Christ”. These companies need 10x even 100x uptake to justify this years spending, Alone. Never mind next financial year. These companies need so much more uptake to be profitable to the point where the level of investment from the MAANG companies makes sence that we should be seeing investment in schools and universitiy programs for these tools to be used so that the next generation and the generation after that, wants to use these tools. Amazon used to run hackathons where they would promote their tools over Microsoft or Google because they knew the developers who use their tech will advocate for their tech. We are not aeeing that level of support for AI tools and, to me, that speaks volumes.
