Yeah, but how much ascent was there? Or are these tests on flat roads? Actually are these range estimation tests standardized? I assume not. I’d imagine something like benchmarks for computers - flat road, hilly road, mountain road, mixed road and few other combos all with defined characteristics.

There is one solid response when it comes to a bully, though. Ignore him, or even worse, appease him and he will double down on whatever delusion he’s on. But you might be on to something, did any country ever ignored him so far? I doubt it’d work, but who knows, I’m not sure about anything anymore.

Farfetched … I mean that you buy something and then you demand a refund. It should be sold without Windows in first place. As per Windowsless laptops, there are Framework, Tuxedo at very least and I’m sure others, as well as selected ones from big manufacturers. Vote with your wallet…

Sure, but deal with it before buying it. This is something that should be handled at EU level (or another entity that supervises fair trade) anyway, pressure them to put it into law. Buying such laptops and later demand refund, unless supported by dealer/manufacturer, is not a proper way IMO. Do not get me wrong, I’m with you, it’s just the way that doesn’t seem right.

I’m with GreenBeard on this and was always saying that monetization is the biggest peertube problem. Patreon and such are not an ideal option, subscription is IMO. A subscription that would be distributed through authors fairly, but that’s not an easy task I suppose.

Something similar happened to Slovene Iskra Triglav computer which was quite advanced for the time (capable of running three different CPUs) but then caught in between US-Soviet cold war/embargo while trying to sell them to Soviet Union.

I applaud your for posting on peertube. And yes, you are right, peertube is at early stages, it lacks discoverability, apps (that’d run on chromecast and TVs in general) and monetization as mentioned. But it’s also a chicken and egg situation. I really do hope it takes off for good.

There is peertube as well, but it lacks monetization. And Patreon is not the answer because not many will bother paying each creator separately (it at all). To me subscription sounds like an ideal solution, but of course, not YouTube.
