• A clear underlayer is the most important part of any nail painting. Especially sloppy painting, and even more so if you have to be surreptitious about painting your nails. If you don’t have a real Base Coat, clear polish or top coat is better than nothing. Don’t clean up the edges where you slopped over onto your cuticles and/or skin, just let it dry a few minutes before applying the black (or any color). Now clean up the edges, noticing how the clear kept the color from staining the skin. It’s also keeping you nails unstained, so you can remove or change it more easily. If the color’s on your cuticles but it’s an even curve, you can leave it. Tomorrow it will wash off and only stay on your nails. Now put on another clear layer to protect it.

• In winter people should start things later and stop them earlier. Sunrise to sunset is QUITE enough time for all productive human behavior. Night hours, activity is optional.

  But let’s not make it EASY for them! Take out the Flock cameras everywhere every time they’re spotted, and fight new installations before they happen. Make it clear that public opinion is against them, that they’re anti-safety implements that erode civil society and abolishing them should be the first step in reclaiming the basic rights of humanity, such as privacy and bodily autonomy.
