I think it failed because the Mail software they used had a bug that couldn’t handle very large E-Mail subjects. Then they were like “See? This linux thing is bad. Go back to Microsoft on everything right now”

Check out the videos of their lead tentacrul. He also did the Muse score redesign. As I understood, they are moving slowly as the codebase is a mess. First they cleaned up the toolbars, changed to non destructive clip editing then switching to qt improved it to the state it is now in. As I understood it, the audio engine is shit so they plan to rip it out and redo it. Midi support is a highly requested feature and I think it will definitely come, but only after everything that’s Audacity is used for is the best it can be. Then the DAW features will be build (they already include tempo, time signaturea etc)

And with “the left ruling parties” you mean who? The SPD? I agree that the past governments have run down the country, I think especially by not investing money into infrastructure etc. But I would hardly call the past governments (which is basically always the CDU FDP and or SPD) left. Or are you talking about the shift of east German voters from a predominantly die Linke voterbase to predominantly AFD?

The AFD is popular because they are masters of populism, the sense of us against the establishment ( which mostly anybody can relate to) and their crazy social media presence. Just yesterday I was looking into the huge amount of far right national AI songs flooding Spotify, including non chalantly citing the first verse of the national hymn
