It looks like it was one malicious item on the workshop, not necessarily the whole workshop. However, that one malicious item will uploaded your credentials to the People Playground Workshop. So they remedied it temporarily by disabling the entire workshop, including all legit mods, to prevent user credentials from being uploaded.
EDIT: I assume they are asking everyone who logged in during the 21st to run antivirus because it was trojan. Originally a legit mod that turned malicious after an update and all subscribers got the “updated” virus.

It was just my media rips. So to say it was “lost” is a bit dramatic I suppose. I just had to spend another two weeks re-ripping my DVD and Blu-ray collection to restore the lost archives. (Without the RAID this time lol)

I ran a software RAID5 via LVM2 and when a failure occurs it becomes some voodoo magic that not even the maintainers understand.
Lost 6TB of archives.

If only lies had consequences.
There were choices. They could do a play/install disc combo. If Sony didn’t allow that for some reason, they could easily split the game in two and put the two SKUs in the same case.
They just didn’t want to. It wasn’t a scenario where there were no options.

Yeah, using a second router as a gateway seems easiest. It wouldn’t be a VLAN. It’d be an actual LAN.
Only problem I see is that UPnP might have some trouble with that style of configuration. Games might be able to automatically create the NAT for the local gateway but I don’t know if they’d properly traverse the second gateway to the internet without losing the route back.

It’s a cartridge type that uses flash media that degrades over time. So yeah, it’s still an issue. More cartridges have probably died since 2021. I know one out of my three did back in 2023.
The 3DS handheld has an automatic repair function built-in that may be able to correct issues, but we also have tools you can use if you have custom firmware.

Any chance you can open up a Shizuku instance to disable the system launcher? That should cause the TV to automatically boot into your installed launcher instead.
I used aShell to accomplish this on my device.

same here, and I don’t know how long ago you had this problem, but the GUI can handle that as well.
If you click the View menu, and choose Linux Kernels, it’ll give you a list of all installed and available kernels. You just need to click the “remove kernels” button and check the ones you no longer need for it to clean up.
(There is an option to remove old kernels automatically in Preferences-Automation but it doesn’t seem to work)

I was incorrect.
It was closer to a worm. The virus infected local mods, and uploaded itself to the workshop alongside your credentials.
I guess that means any workshop creator who gets infected would further spread the virus because the virus automatically updated the creator’s workshop items with the infection.
