Not necessarily: the statement (in isolation) is a call to learn and become capable to explain limitations. The criticized effect is basically “people not being able to explain the limits”.
I suspect that “finding limits” wasn’t incentived though (and I mean things like positive feedback, not money). And then you get shit-in-shit-out factories.
Or to rephrase your statement: If you want to play a game then stick to the rules you’ve set up - otherwise everyone’s allowed to cheat.

What’s your experience in terms of captchas and lockout? Any issues?
I’m running into these with searxng but I’m not sure if it’s just based on IP/ my server or the software itself.

Oh SpaceX core business including their numbers are amazing, I agree! But they also disclosed the whole AI stuff, including the madness of “inference in space” - the physics is then only one search away. … PayPal was really cool and solved problems as well - and so did Tesla!
I think Musk is like a reverse Midas, eversthing he touches becomes shit for everyone else :/
SpaceX was by far the biggest exciting development in the last years for me … There’s still hope I’ll be wrong though - hoping for it!

I wanted to put a dedicated graphics card in there for interference experiments - but the server is, well, a server - and those high availability PUs are expensive and a hell to cable manage
But a Dremel I had at hand … And a second PU as well. Now my server has a second power unit which is only powering the graphics card and is short circuited to be always-on.
self-made problems require self-made solutions.

In short: yes. You can tune these values when self hosting - it basically changes the b chance which tokens will be used under which circumstances.

The issue is the whole UX behind it. I have yet to see someone review the 30th prompt of “grep” - there is no same default or middle ground.
For example whitelist read actions or harness side limitations to the project folder.
This is just lazy - again. “Users don’t use or very bad security feature so they just want us to disable it”.
I would love to find anything that had a more positive outlook … but alas perhaps I should ask OpenGrok because my creativity is not enough.
