I just use a wok laptop and desktop for that stuff. My laptop and phone block everything and those are the items that travel. Not perfect but better than nothing.

There are sophisticated algos for fingerprinting. It might take several data points to identify you on the internet. If they have your IP and your date of birth, they only need two.

Download app from fdroid or whatever for your phone. You can get it on desktop by going to nextdns.io and signing up so that it recalls your filters and follwing instructions. There is a CLI on github if you want to use shell. You can install in Linux or use dns-crypt to encrypt traffic through your ISP’s dns until it’s gets to NextDNS server. There are many paths but I can help if you tell me what type of devices you care about and relative OSs.
I think my explanation sounds way harder than it is. People just have different DNS preferences. It’s simpler than I make it sound.

You’re missing a private DNS. Not sure Quad9 will do the trick, but maybe you know more than me.
Get NextDNS. It comes with preestablished filters like “No Google” and “No Facebook”, but you establish your own over time as you see who is getting data from your device by viewing the log file. You can install spp on your phone. You can also get separate account for your computer. They only charge if you go over a cartain number of queries but I never have. Its the best security service I have by far.
