Gamecube was the first time I had a console that was still relevant! For the first time I could talk with my friends about games they were actually currently playing, instead of constantly bringing up games they hadn’t touched in years. I just dug my gamecube back out and hacked it a couple months ago, and have been having a blast replaying Phantasy Star Online again! PS2 will always be my favorite console, but gamecube was definitely a good one too.

Kinda. Creativity starts to die when you start to get someone or something else to be creative for you. It starts with all the “thorny” problems (which are the ones that make you better at your craft by working through) but then, with those problems off your table, smaller problems start to become “thorny” in your mind, so you give those to AI too. With those problems gone, your “thorny” problems become the next most difficult, so they get sent to AI.
This continues slowly but steadily until you can hardly even start something because the thought of it is too “thorny.” There are no objectively difficult tasks - everything is relative to your baseline. When you offload a difficult task, that doesn’t get rid of your difficult tasks, it just shifts your baseline to make slightly less difficult tasks seem difficult.

As someone who works with spreadsheets and was recently told by management to test out a new AI tool, I was very happy that it missed important details on every project, and it was never the same details, so it was very easy for me to show my boss how going through everything with a fine toothed comb to catch all the things the AI missed would take much longer than just doing it myself and being familiar with the information.

I think it’s funny that one of the most well-known ancient pieces of writing is of a man complaining that he was sold cheap copper, and here we are over 3,500 years later still thinking merchants can be trusted. Flock was never going to serve the common people when they can make so much more money serving the wealthy instead. When someone chooses a career in making money over all else, the only thing you can trust about them is that they will drop everyone and everything for a buck.

That’s the issue - 1 billion sounds like a big enough number. Most people hear it and think “Hah! Just desserts!” but it’s not. They make so much money that even 1 billion is something they can easily ignore. The average person has such a poor grasp on just how much money is being accumulated that its easy to fool them into thinking a fine is far more damaging to the company than it is.

Yeah, I’m a sucker for the “OP protagonist wins effortlessly all the time and everyone loves him” shows. Sometimes you just want to hear a feel-good story set in a world where the good guys just win like it’s the only logical conclusion. There’s enough suffering and uncertainty in the real world without it needing to be in the fake worlds I escape to; I want them to be low-stakes auto-success stories more often than not.

This is perfect - my wife and I have both been limping along on old falling-apart phones, and have been looking for something new that doesn’t make us feel gross for supporting a major company, and isn’t overloaded with so many nearly-useless features. Decided to take the de-google plunge at the same time, and grabbed the eos ones!

I’ve found I’m a lot happier when I just take things as they come. It’s not so much that I want to watch mid shows as it is that I don’t want the stress that comes from trying to avoid them. I’m much happier just quickly picking something good enough than spending a bunch of time researching the best thing and then still wondering if I could’ve found something better.
I enjoyed watching shows most when I had 10 local TV channels to pick from and just watched whatever seemed good enough out of those options, so now I just purposefully limit my options to emulate that, and it’s been pretty nice.

I’ve got a dispenser that basically works like a gumball machine. Goes every day and only needs to be refilled maybe once every month or two. Even has a battery backup in case the power goes out while we’re on vacation or something. No need for smart home integration, just listen to your pet when they complain that they don’t have any food, and make sure you’re full up before leaving for an extended amount of time.

It did, yeah. It was a bit abrupt for some people, but I didn’t really think there was much left to go over without feeling like it was tacked on.
I’d highly recommend the picoloader if you ever want to mod it. It was surprisingly easy to install.
