• I figured this would have happened sooner for every industry.

  People resent AI in every way imaginable. I would not even be shocked to find companies who do use AI to be lying about it like this because it is such good advertisement.

• Hence why I’m often of the habit of waiting until I feel comfortable and safe with the person before it gets to that point.

  Granted, out of all the people I’ve been with, I have only ever asked one of them out. I’m aware that I have frustrated some people by not asking, but I was never at that point and if it was that important to them then they should have asked instead.

• You can tell a lot about someone by how they treat people that work the lower wage occupations.

  Cashiers, entry level customer service or other entry level desk jobs, entry level blue collar work. All of those people are hard working members of society who contribute so much despite how little they get paid in return and I don’t want anything to do with anyone who doesn’t treat them with respect and kindness.

• Yeah it’s difficult convincing people due to sunken cost.

  You could be chatting on a better platform that offers everything discord offers for free but you’d have to convince your friends and the servers you frequent to all move.

  It’s not about the platform itself as much as it’s about the communities that are all already there.

  Even the one person I know who is terrified of losing her account and preemptively set up alternatives on other platforms still won’t leave until something forces her.
