Blame people unwilling to pay for security for cheaper phones not having hardware security features.
Blame the other manufacturers for not letting GrapheneOS unlock and relock the bootloader on their good phones with hardware security.
Blame Graphene for not making a lesser version “CharcoalOS” (or something) for other phones, so now I have to use the even less secure, beginner-friendly /e/OS on my Sony phone.

Governments push citizens onto Facebook by not providing a publicly funded alternative for what it does, like finding local events, marketplace, and dating. There has to be some central place for everyone to find each other, and even European governments seem to have decided a foreign monopolist should do that.

I agree. GrapheneOS is the best (unless Google hardware is backdoored - does anyone check microchips with a microscope?).
Lineage OS / iodeOS / etc:
/e/OS is very beginner-friendly (as was Mandrake Linux from the same guy) compared to GrapheneOS, and it has been translated to more languages. My newest opinion about /e/OS after 1.5 years of use: https://piefed.social/post/2293825#comment_12563961

I’ve been using /e/OS for 1.5 years. It’s okay.
- Open-source software made by a small French company, Murena, headed by Mandrake Linux creator Gaël Duval.
- Easy way to escape surveillance capitalism while keeping most of Android app selection. Based on LineageOS based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project).
- Most apps work. For comparison, GrapheneOS (also AOSP-based) supports more apps because of sandboxed Google Play. MicroG, the substitute for Google Play Services used by /e/OS can’t pay through Google (yet), so you can’t buy some apps. - Runs faster and for longer per charge than Android (because surveillance load was removed).
- Imitates Apple phones. Easily re-Androided by installing Lawnchair launcher.
- Text dictation with local AI (new and buggy).
- Easy to install: has a web installer (like GrapheneOS). (There’s also the seemingly easy https://openandroidinstaller.org/ for many OSs. I don’t know anything about it.)
- Easy to activate Nextcloud sync/backup; defaults to Murena server. In GrapheneOS you set it up manually.
- Can relock some phone models’ bootloader (like GrapheneOS, iodéOS and CalyxOS do), improving security over LineageOS but staying below the most secure GrapheneOS. More about bootloader relocking:

Murena seems to be a bit overwhelmed with the project. Slow security updates. Slow bug fixes, even with privacy bugs. Slow customer support. A cloud outage. Community support forum and chat work fine (unfortunately the chat is on proprietary Telegram).
We can help Murena hire more developers by buying devices and Nextcloud service from them.
AOSP-derivatives depend on Google’s development of Android and can be sabotaged by Google. The sustainable solution is something else, maybe a real Linux such as Jolla Sailfish OS, PostmarketOS, etc.

One good function is cooling while no-one’s in the room, so that the fridge goes quiet when anyone is in hearing distance. Decibel limits for set times of day works about the same.
It’s not just a pump, it’s a linear compressor driven at any frequency or stroke length accoring to the situation, and there’s a variable speed fan with lots of valves for directing cold air to where warmth is detected. It’s hard to hear when the compressor starts because it slowly sneaks up to full speed and full stroke over a minute.
I still haven’t dared to give my LG fridge-freezer network access, but it may have already found its way out via a neighbour’s LG TV.
