Yes, that’s the endgame of AI. Create a permanent underclass of quasi slaves doing anything just to stay alive and the upper class living in luxury bunkers celebrating while the world burns.
One billionaire once asked (this was before the AI boom): how can I make sure my servants don’t rebel in the luxury bunkers? AI might be their answer.

There could be a couple of reasons why this is the way it is:
- Lazy game design. Failure states have to be written, balancing has to be tested, if you did this right.
- Appealing to the broadest player base. If anyone can win, no one is excluded by skill issues (like game journalists who aren’t skilled)
- Crunch. Balancing and failure were supposed to be included but were cut due to releasing too easily.

They probably try to keep the normal users out, so that their spy-ware infested normal version is still the default for most of the users.
Either that or they didn’t remove the crud but replaced it with AI crud that needs the RAM.

There is also the ‘jagged frontier’ that can throw you off. The AI will solve hard problems for you, and you think, “Wow, it is more useful than I thought,” and then it gets absolutely stumped on a simple problem: completely stuck and unable to continue. If you are not a developer yourself, but just a vibe coder, you will be stuck there with your AI, with no solution.
