• The people claiming it’s humanity ending are all directly involved in the AI companies. One take is that they are the ones that know the most about it.

  My take is they are financially incentivized in making sure their investments grow in value.

• Nah, I don’t think that’s it. Cook is 65, and retirement (or semi-retirement) is appropriate for his age.

  Termus is a hardware guy, and if AI is going to play a part in Apple’s long-term plan (and I agree that it will,) it’s going to skew heavily on-device. I don’t think we see any big AI changes from Apple just because Ternus is now CEO.

• Agreed, it has been somewhat underpriced. But I also generally prefer my plex setup, and have only had Apple One for classical music, Friday night MLB games, and F1.

  Strongly considered and almost cancelled Apple One this morning, but figured I’d hang on until the end of baseball and formula 1 seasons. This price jump changed my mind, and now cancelled.

• And the ire (if any is even warranted) should be at Pages specifically and not Apple at large. You can download LobreOffice just fine, or you can pay for Word. Heck, let’s give some love to Preview, the VLC of static documents.

  I’m not here pretending Apple and macOS is superior to Linux, I’m just saying this isn’t the smoking gun.

• My solution so far is a bike rack that blocks my plate from view. Easy enough to feign ignorance and “correct it” in the moment. Flocks database no doubt has an entry for [color][make][model], but at least it’s not associated with me directly through motor vehicle bureau records.
