I once bought something at one of these stores. Was in need for a specific kind of sugar for a recipe and they had it. Honestly it’s probably mostly failing on price point and convenience, because a) most of the products they sell are organic and high quality; so more expensive and b) you have to know what you want to buy beforehand so you can bring your own containers… Also the store was in an awkward location and not well advertised.

This will happen just as likely as all the hundreds of GWs of “AI compute” datacenters, for which there exists not enough power on the grid. All hype.

That chart is not about “AI smart glasses” (the ones with cameras and such), but about actual glass that has some “smart” functionality inside. Such as dimming or going opaque on command. So kinda relevant to this discussion.

Even more! In the EU it has to be marked/identified as AI generated, if you publish it anywhere (not that it’s enforced much yet, but competitors might/will sue if it’s used in a company setting). I think this should be adopted world wide (although fat chance, I know)…

This definitely needs the belter version “highway star” as background music.

on Amid RAM price hikes, Microsoft reportedly raises Windows license cost, forcing OEMs to hike prices even further on hardware in c/technology@lemmy.world · 11 Aug 2026
Someone has to pay for all that Microslop copilot bs and it’s just not enough with the intended customers
That’s also true. If I remember correctly, when I was in Sweden 10 years ago, there were such refill stations in a normal supermarket. So it’s definitely possible for certain products!
