• Audacity is like a tape recording studio. It doesn’t support midi programming and VSTi as far as I know.

  Everything is a DAW if you’re brave enough, and there’s no strict definition, but for something to be a full DAW, it should have both recording and virtual instruments IMO.

  As of now, there’s very few free ones that does both and Reaper beats all of them as the cheapest paid option. However Reaper doesn’t do everything. Some paid DAWs still have features that Reaper doesn’t.

  Sweden is very bureaucratic and relying heavily on their domestic identification systems which are notoriously impossible to navigate for foreigners. However it is of absolute necessity to get this part sorted out in order to make any kind of communication with the government in Sweden, so it boggles my mind if anyone didn’t have access to the application long beforehand, if they’ve been living in Sweden for longer than a few months at most. Age is no excuse. You simply cannot exist in Sweden without it.

  The proces was then to apply for permanent residence using the offered agreement between UK and EU, by logging in, filling out the form and attaching the requested documents as proof of residence, and also the required biometric registration.

  Sure, it wasn’t easy, but it is going to be even more difficult afterwards. Anyone who is entering Sweden (from outside EU) after this, will have to apply to the ordinary migration system which includes a test in both language and history of Sweden.

• Take heat from homes

  That’s the tricky part.

  This sand battery works by offsetting the production of heat to be used in an already existing district heating system.

  That system does not easily change into a district cooling system. It is simply not built to run in reverse. Every part of it from production through distribution, exchanging and in-house distribution are made with one purpose: To transfer heat in one direction.

  It makes sense to use renewable energy to charge this battery, so they don’t need as much fossil fuel or whatever they use normally.

  But, if we were to make a district wide hvac-system the same way, it would probably be better and more efficient to simply use individual airconditioners using the renewable energy directly.

  The extreme investments forced them to roll it out prematurely over a much larger market that it could ever supply in a meaningful way.
