They’re trying to figure out how you compare to other people. It’s terribly worded, but it’s something people who don’t take things literally would get. It’s also really weird because other mental health evaluations tend not to use that sort of potentially confusing language.

Recently I had a therapist ask if I experience cognitive distortions, but in a way where a literal interpretation would be asking if I hallucinate. I’m not autistic and I knew what she meant, but I did feel the need to be clear in my answer

Yeah, assuming courts take the rights of the accused seriously it could be a win win, especially awaiting trial and during reintegration after prison. More safety and security for the victim and less need for more restrictive measures for the accused/released. It could easily be the difference between being stuck in jail for months and being granted bail.

Tbh I found it funny because while it is a harmful stereotype, it’s also a career we’ve often been pushed into, and it’s still a bold stance in many places for someone who’d admit to paying a cis stripper to admit to paying a trans one.

on don't give them a rule in c/onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 11 Sep 2026
It took me a long time to get that, but I really feel it. Like, don’t get me wrong, putting up a rainbow crosswalk doesn’t mean much if the government that does it is v coding trans prisoners, but the statement “these people had to fight for their rights, and we’re glad to call them our neighbors” is still important.
And hell stuff like this adds to the vibes in the same way having a bunch of Chinese aesthetic in Chinatown does. Yeah, you should make the gayborhood feel like it. And while you’re at it hire black artists to help beautify the blacker parts of town. I actually used to live in a neighborhood with a ton of black art and it absolutely made it a nicer place to live, even as a white person.

All of this needs to be illegal, but piggybacking especially does. Circumventing the will of the end user (aka the person who should be considered the owner) as for what the product in their possession, home, and use does shouldn’t be tolerated

Yeah, caveat emptor worked in an era where there were a lot of sellers and not that many ways to screw over customers, especially as most people weren’t buying a wide range of products. I should be able to assume that my appliances aren’t working against me, especially when it’s becoming more difficult to purchase ones that don’t

I also find the argument itself interesting because I’d honestly call it easier to compare my transition to joining a religious order than self worship. After a long time seriously considering what was wrong in my life I humbled myself to accept that I needed to live an uncommon and difficult path that would completely change my life from what had always been expected of me.
It pushed me away from religion, but it also called me back to the divine.

I’m just running an old shareware copy of woman.bin. I know it’s old fashioned but it works for me, and I don’t really have many needs from it except the desire to overclock some of the features and the fact that I had to replace some of my hardware that didn’t play nice with it. I would appreciate a version that doesn’t nag me about some hardware bits that can’t be installed after market, but it’s running so smoothly on my machine I’m just not willing to try finding a version that doesn’t do that, especially given it’s a minor annoyance.

Yeah this is a matter of making it fail safe. A refrigerator that isn’t operating at food preservation temperatures (and freezing temperatures in the freezer) is dangerous.
Appliances related to safety such as refrigerators and temperature control need to have a safe position they can fail to when their logic is confused.
