My expetiences differ.
The default launcher regularly breaks, so I need to clean the cache, or wait until it succeeds. So for what I can, I use droidify or obtainium. Some apps also dont work properly as they are reliant on google services. Netflix comes to mind first.
Bank works, but governmental app (ID & payment) dont work, so I am still rel on work phone for those. Check forums, theres a list for these crucial apps and their status.
Other than that it’s been mostly smooth experience.

Yes, but Fairphone is partnered with Murena (e/os), and there seems to be a beef between them and graphene, so I imagine its out of spite, too.

on Every time I use podman in c/linuxmemes@lemmy.world · 25 Aug 2026
I understand that to admins or experienced users service files probably feel like home. To an inexperienced user like me it added quite a lot of friction, especially compared to docker where I pretty much copy the compose file and run it.
I tried to use podman instead of docker, but decided that for my home use it might not be worth the headache, but I might reconsider now that I could use LLM to set those up for me.

Definitely, but then it feels like it comes with a cost rather than benefit of not having a daemon. You gain more control at the cost of convenience.

It doesn’t and I’m sure there are benefits, but for basic home services daemonless translated directly into more work for no benefit.

Well, bluetooth, wifi and cellular are radios, so my guess is it depends on what frequencies you wanna cover and how much extra you are willing to sacrifices in price & space.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isnt broadcast done only manually? I.e. when you begin pairing? I guess it depends on device.

on Cloudflare says humans could become a "rounding error" as bots generate 1,000 times more internet traffic in c/technology@lemmy.world · 10 Aug 2026
How would that prevent bot traffic?
Give octopi launcher a try. It’s the best one I tried so far.
E/os reports 0 trackers.
