• oh yeah, i don’t plan on folding. i drank heavily for like 20 years, and decided i’d had enough. saw it coming and new it would be tough. ive picked up reading, and im gaming more. also knocking out more computer projects.

  also i work in a social environment (a bar lol) so im not feeling isolated or anything. the bar has been great about stocking NA beers for me, and i found “fake shots” that i like quite a bit called pathfinder. they are also very supportive so i would feel like a failure if i folded and drank around them. i honestly havent even been enjoying smoking weed as much. i kinda like just being sober.

  so the transition has been very smooth so far. but i just have so much more time in my day between not staying at the bar all night, and not being hungover most mornings.

  i appreciate your kind words. i was mostly just venting. also being bored and uncomfortable is probably just part of the process of adjusting to my new life, and being less dependant on dopamine and alcohol.

• ah yeah that’s fair. but also i kinda agree with that person’s response. getting frustrated with linux doesnt mean linux sucks, it means you are learning. ive been using linux for over 20 years, and i still find plenty of things that take me out of my element. and that’s a good thing.

  but why not look it up? you either use a tool and arguments often enough to memorize it, or you don’t.
