I can tell you’re not working in IT…
It’s astonishing how quickly it changed the field there…
And indeed it’s quite a productivity tool since roughly half a year ago, not that it is fun, to use it all the time…

i know one university having their compsci students now doing their projects using AI.
How to promote brain atrophy…
But I guess it’s difficult for Universities to adjust, indeed…
And yes, I agree, I write less and less manual code, but it’s not fun. Endless context switching is really not promoting flow states, that I had when I programmed for ours… Which I consider what made it fun in the first place.
As a programmer I can already give some hints. The code generated by current LLMs is really looking weird, Certainly nothing that humans would do…
