This reminds me of discussions we had to write in school. The “expensive brands” argument was always the only somewhat viable pro-argument for school uniforms.
Otherwise, school uniforms are absolutely terrible for poor families and are often used as a way to keep lower classes out if certain schools. Even if there’s a second hand market it still means you have to buy additional sets of clothes. Buying second hand uniforms may also be as embarrassing for a child than wearing off-brand clothes.
I my school days it wasn’t common to mock kids about off-brand clothes. People buying to much branded stuff were more commonly the the target. I knew a kid who came to school with a fake Addidas jacket that said “Aadidas”. Eveyone thought it was cool for being so obviously fake. Expensive phones were important though, even in the late 1990s and 2000s.

In theory, but I think gasoline is probably the least useful product you could make with it. It would just be a wasteful process to keep outdated engines alive.

My old gmail account was 21 years old but google still took down my restaurant reviews if the owners complained - due to me allegedly being a recently created bot account. So I don’t think they take that into account at all.

Look at a map of wine producing regions in Europe. Today wine production ends in west Germany and only really starts again in south-eastern Czech Republic - with some tiny local exceptions. In the middle ages, wine was grown in that gap too. And people start doing it again now.

Yes, there was a warm period where wine was grown as far east as what is now the Czech-German border. It was followed by the little ice age.

Why should they use some kind of filter to achieve the same fuzzy, plasticy look that bad AI art tends to have? It’s not like that magically appears when you make 3D art.

I can see that, but honestly, Kuon is just slow and clunky. Deliberately, yes, but way past the point where it can be enjoyed by anyone but the most hardcore fans. The developers overdid it. It’s one of the main reason why the game wasn’t well recieved. To avoid combat you have to play the game the slowest way possible, while the movement is already slow to begin with. At some point the decisions you make in the game are less driven by aspects of the game’s world, but by how much of your own time you want to invest.
When I played it back in the day, I really wanted to like it but just couldn’t, because I felt like the game tried its best to waste my time.

The Siren games are really unique in my opinion. There was such a lot of effort put into the environment alone that always makes me come back. I never finished one though.
The only games that felt a bit similar to me were the Project Zero games. I even like them a bit more because you are much more able to take the environments in.

Yeah, when you look at it, it’s not very good craftsmanship. You can see the traces of the rotating tools. Since it doesn’t look bad overall, that’s a sign of someone not really putting a lot of effort in it. The creator could, but didn’t really want to.

I think Remedy always manages to make their games just slightly too long to be completely enjoyable. It’s sill a great game, but the DLCs felt a bit dry to me.

The rules didn’t really change. It was all just based on a single court decision that nobody cared to challenge until 2018.

I don’t claim they are generally bad. I said that the argument with “branded clothes” isn’t a very good one and school uniforms can very well be used to exclude poorer students. And I included a link to a study to back that up.
The main reason why many poorer countries have school uniforms is exactly what you say: so that poorer kids and minorities don’t stick out. Whether this really works or helps in any way is a whole different thing.
I just needed a two second internet search to tell me that the financial burden school uniforms put on families is a discussed topic in South Africa. And are still going to be more expensive than everyday clothes.
Now you are just being silly. Kids do not want to be associated with their school all day, even less their whole youth including days off. Parents don’t want kids to ruin their school clothes, especially if they are poor. Not to mention that most uniforms are not inteded for kids to play in them, as they often include leather shoes or skirts.
