Oops, I wasn’t really doing the math as I went
Originally I was adding up to your 10x + a adding in bunch extra for flock, but somepoint my brain switch that 10x to 10%. Oh well, the specific numbers dont really matter.
I think greater responsibility should be placed on the department to encourage firing. If the burden is mostly on the officer, than the department bean counters won’t care as long the officer can write more “valid” tickets to offset the bogus ones.
Its also like if a waiter drops a tray of food on someone causing injury. Who is financially responsible to the injured person, the business or waiter? I think most of would agree that the business is. The business is fully within their rights to fire that waiter, but they can’t withhold pay for the damages. If the business can prove the tray was intentionally thrown, then they can sue the waiter. But, the injured party should never have to talk to the waiter.
Should the be the same for an officer, if they make a mistake it’s on the department to make it right with the affected parties. If the department proves the officer maliciously broke protocol or law, then they can sue them separately. The victim of the officer’s actions should be made “whole” by the department, then the department and officer can figure it out on their own.

Break it down; 2% cop 5% department 25% flock 2x cop 5x department 25x flock
The extra 20 from flock goes back to taxpayers who had to pay the department’s portion.

You could argue it wasn’t destruction of property and get the charges reduced.
You’ll still get slapped with vandalism or something, but shouldn’t be as bad as destroying the unit.

I like lawnchair a lot. Not having news/AI crap constantly loading is defenitaly a plus for battarty.
There’s some knockoff/divided forks, here’s the version I use.

Additionally, NetGaurd is great for locking down what has internet/cell access. It uses VPN, so if you already use that it won’t work, for only 1 VPN can run at a time.

I thinks there’s a bit much doom and gloom right now.
If new pixels don’t support GrapheneOS that will suck.
If Motorola comes thru with GrapheneOS support next year, we will be back to where we are now. 1 manufacture, but at least it won’t be google anymore. Yes, its only on their flagship, but hardware trickles down within a few years. I’d be surprised if the whole 2030 line up isn’t supported (assuming they don’t drop the ball).
In my option, if anyone has an older phone, they should consider getting a new or used 9 or 10 to get through the next few years, while we wait and see what happens.

In the long term, yes it would be better if it shipped.
However, if someone went to a phone store with a stock graphene on display and anything else next to it, which one do you think they’ll choose?
Until Graphene’s stock experience (i.e stock apps and launcher) mature enough to not look out of place next to google and apple, the average Joe will pick the more polished phone. I hope improving that is a task Motorola will be able to help with, while graphene keeps doing their thing.
Additionally with the app/play store dualopoly, Motorola would be shooting them selves in the foot if they didn’t ship with the play store.
Getting an option beside a pixel for Grapheneos is pretty cool and a big step forward. I hope new demand will be high enough to show the decision makers that its an endeavor worth continuing.

A lot of programs have an export button for settings a such. Useful for your launcher and whatever else has a lot of settings.
I don’t like doing a full restore, new phones are a good time to clear old system files and crap.
For syncing stuff, I don’t use most of the default phone folders for docs, music, etc. I make my own for everything, so if some update or app decides to do some shenanigans to those folder none of that is backed up. Only folders I don’t make are downloads and photos, and dcim, which I still backed up.
If you don’t want to deal with a syncthing or something automatic, you could try “Back In Time” on Linux.

Taking a away the phone during school hours is another band aid.
Practicality, there isn’t a single solution that will stop the shootings, a dozen band aids is better than doing nothing. You can get rid of the phones, could invest that 150k into to the salary of a school therapist, pay teachers more so they aren’t all depressed and overworked. Hire more teachers so classes aren’t 30+, maybe they’d be able to focus on a kid for more than 3 minutes a day. In other words actually fund education.
But sense that none of that is likely to happen this decade,
I don’t like the idea of taking away kids ability to call 911 in an emergency. This isn’t 1980. Classroom phones are an option, but many have switched to voip and rely on some major internet service not being randomly down that day. Supposedly they’d work with 911 no matter what, but I wouldn’t rely on that.
Could switch to dumb phone or set up parental controls to block internet access, and various apps, during school hours, while still allowing phone calls.

So it looks like the source originally used that awful title misrepresenting the article it self. In other words the source needs to be blacklisted for spreading bullshit. Dose this community have a blacklist yet?
I know blacklisting sources is a steep slope to censorship, but at a certain point if the source feels they need to click bait people with tabloid headlines they are not worth our time.

I’m talking about a windows feature that activity changes the cursor to be the inverse of the content underneath it. If content = black, then curosr = white. If content = white, then cursor = black.
It’s not so simple as downloading a curosr pack with different colored icons.
I searched the web and results are all just various forms with the feature requested, but no feature. One rumor floating around is Windows might have a patent on it or something, but I didn’t go digging for that info.

And here’s why public archival is so important.
I would not be surprised if whatever person in charge of the archive, if there is/was one, has advocated for a 3-2-1 solution. But the hoops were too much to get through to have a fucking back up system beyond a relying on random storage company. That or it was someone who’s been in the job sense they converted the tapes to digital and has just been coasting along uploading stuff for the past 20 years.
