I used this to make a single sata drive, plugged two is them into my raid sata ports on my hdd and combined then into one raid zero hd.
The biggest slowdown was the memory controller, they are cheap and not very fast on these things. I was no wear near the limit of the sata ports.

It sucks. I did one with 20 of these. It was be slow and crash in about a year with failures. Not worth the time unless you already have a ton of these lying around and you like building stuff like this.

The biggest problem was heat. If you used the drive for longer than a few minutes the the speed dropped to a crawl.
The second part was the caching issue, it can read really fast but writing was very inconsistent. Small files were quick, large ones showed down a lot.
The second problem was the reliability. These micro sd cards aren’t meant to be used for constant writing. Think about those dash cams with microsd, if you have then set to constant recording the micro sd cards usually fails in just a few years. Now imagine you have 20 of these. It’s like a ticking time bomb.
But overall, it was fun to give these little microsd cards a new life. It’s good enough to play games on, at least games from 10 years ago when i did this.
