• I cancelled because Spotify was injecting their own ads in my podcasts. Like clearly injected ads and not the podcasters’ embedded ones. Not sure if they are still doing it but that was the last straw for me as a long time premium member.

• I know just what you’re talking about and as I consume more media I even start to notice certain setups across them. Like even if one show has never used that trope before I can kind of tell where it’s going to go.

  The best is when they know - and they know you know - and then subvert your expectations with a mew twist to the trope.

  It’s possibly the only really great thing about becoming so literate in a certain media. Typically it spoils the fun as you well described, but it’s a real joy to have almost like a dialog if you will with the creator of the show as they play with your understanding of what is happening.
