• My family promised to save me their 1980s pioneer stereo system, tape deck, 6 cd changer, turntable, and cabinate. I didn’t go ‘home’ when they cleared out my grandparents house and my uncle sold the fucking thing for a few 100 bucks.

  looking online i can find a similar system for like $1000, and only in america.

  The one safe space I had as a teenager was sat in front of that thing with headphones blocking out the rest of the world. I will never get over this.

  my grandfather treated me like a vulture when i asked if i could take it back in 2019, they hadn’t turned the thing on since the 1990s.

• I use a VPN 99% of the time, i turn it off when i need to access archive.org, or watch something on the public braordcasters streaming platform

  yeah sure the captchas are annoying but it’s not like websites load within 10 seconds anymore

  I only wish protonVPN was a good as the one i used previously, but i cancelled it cause it had ties to israel
