Yeah that’s the killer. Just not enough content yet. I think it’s cause video hosting is expensive. My hope is that individual youtubers start hosting their own peertube instances. But they’d never do that because they’d lose money.
If peertube could get functionality which would allow creators to hide videos behind a subcription which could be paid in fiat/crypto that would be a game changer. Easy to donate to your favourite creators while keeping federation.
Maybe one day.
Defo would recommend changing your email though. Takes a while to do all your accounts but once it’s done you’re free! Feels good.

Wtf! In that case, i’m stumped. I can’t think of a mechanism that would allow Google to track you across all the different browsers and operating systems you’ve tried.
If you’re still concerned then just stop using these services. Youtube can’t track you if you never visit it!

I’ve never owned one but it looks like it just extands the range of your router. You could replace it with something else?
A good test would be to see if you experience the same thing on a different network. For example, take your laptop to a cafe and see if you still get personalised suggestions.
Again, having a secure vpn helps when travelling and is an important piece of the privacy stack, in my opinion. A proper one should cost ~$5 a month.

If you are capable of running tailsOS you’re capable of aquiring bitcoin and paying for a vpn. All the info is available online.
If you are truly not seeing any results i think you should ditch the google access point. Make sure you’re router is secure as well, but that’s beyond my realm of knowledge atm.

Hmmm very bizarre that none of those options are working for you. Those should be extremely secure ways of browsing the web.
Just to confirm, are you logging in to anything? Youtube and google can track you anywhere if you sign in to an account.
When you restart Tor and visit youtube, it should be asking you about cookies again. I make a habit of declining everything anyway.
Perhaps your Google access point is the culprit but it would have to be breaking encryption to affect your connection so surely not?
I’d recommend getting your hands on some bitcoin. Then you can convert it to monero and pay for a vpn that way. A secure vpn and librewolf should be enough to feel like you’re not being tracked.

That seems quite high. How many people would actually watch as soon as they got the notification? Do their videos usually get 500k views in the first hour?
It wouldn’t have to be all or nothing at first. They could still post to Youtube to share the load. Start with 3 servers and see how they get on.

Wht not spin up their own peertube instance? The tech is there. Idk how it would work out cost wise. 25M subscribers is a lot but how many simultaneous viewers would there be? 1000 is manageable, would probably only need one server. Creators must take distribution into their own hands.
Truly. I am keen to rejoin the EU but maybe it can wait if Blair’s backing it.
Anything to get in power eh?
