Your point doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Different companies have different approaches to engineering and quality control, and it absolutely makes a massive difference for how long their products last. This is very obvious in the car market.
ML will likely play a massive role for engineering going forward, but again, it’s up to each company or organization to decide how to use it. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if some companies try to have LLMs weigh in on engineering matters, where they shouldn’t. AI will amplify bad engineering.
But responsible companies will make proper use of ML and their cars will be better for it.

No. This is how you arrive at a society where most people can’t afford insurance.
A person that is wrongly incarcerated should of course be compensated for their financial losses plus a certain amount for the pain caused. But the compansation still needs to be within reason. Otherwise, insurance will skyrocket.
I mean, it already did in the US. For this exact reason. But I’d note that most countries do not give exorbiant payouts. It’s not normal and not good.
Or: If the loss of a pet is priceless, why stop at $10m, or indeed why compensate at all?

I think that certain things will be fairly resistant to forking, even by AI. Foundational software like the kernel, compilers, basic tools, databases, and so on will likely benefit more from being used as the standard/vanilla version rather than a modded version (especially a vibe-modded one).
But people and companies will experiment with this for sure and it wouldn’t surprise me if some of the less software-competent hardware companies start making their Linux forks or drivers with LLMs, at least for a couple of years in the near future.
I also think that this will shift lots of companies further away from GPL toward MIT/BSD, because they’ll want a fully moddable source but they won’t want to share what they’re vibecoding.

No. I would never use a TV that isn’t connected to a computer. It would be great if that computer was built-in with good peripherals, but only on the condition that the user owns it.

This is really neat and I love it, but I am a bit worried about the power supply. Are you drawing power directly from the laptop? I’d just assume that spinning all four drives at once might cause spikes that I’m unsure if the built-in PSU is equipped for?

Just to expand on this, most people and corporations don’t just pay for usage, they also pay a fee for the max amperage they have connected to the grid. I’m sure it’s actually the same in the USA, it’s just that they’re bending over backwards to bend the rules for data centers due to mass psychosis and rampant corruption.
Yeah so historically PlayStation has had a lot of exclusives (Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, The Last of Us) that would be the deciding factor for a lot of players. So Microsoft wanted to ensure that Xbox/PC could synergize and compete against Sony by buying a stake in a ton of game studios, either to have their own exlusives or at least delayed release for PlayStation. But between bitcoin, AI and enshittification the gaming industry is in shambles so they’re cutting overhead.
