My initial reaction was “well that’s gonna end badly”. But then I realised they are probably not talking about generative AI. ML approaches can be pretty useful for optimisation, so this might not be as bad as it sounds. Really depends on what the actual technology is and what purpose it’s being put to…

I think you’re misinterpreting - the thing needs ink one way or another, and the kit suggested in the image is just a standard ink refill kit. They’re just asking if people want them to provide that, or if they want to get it elsewhere - I selected elsewhere.

I was like this 5 years ago. Networking a lot is still effort for me, but it is just another learnable skill, and it has lots of benefits (depending on your aims, I guess)
Edit: hah, just realised this is about connecting computers, not about talking to people…

Interesting policy… I suspect it falls apart in the details though. Like, there are plenty of creative elements in responding to questions (and any of the other categories). That mean there will be lots of weird edge cases that are hard to adjudicate. And those GenAI components of “non-creative” categories will have ripple effects into the broader project and community (as they are everywhere, so maybe not that important for a.policy to grapple with, IDK).

I kinda love this because it shows both how uninventive and useless meta is, but it also clarifies just how much the earlier situations were also just publicity stunts.
Yeah… Aggregation makes this kind of useless. Like, there are many reasons why AI could be good or bad, and many dimensions along which you could trust or distrust it. Mashing it all together without asking the “why” you think a think makes it kind of meaningless, especially given that exposure to it and education on how it works are going to be wildly different by region.
