“Am I free to go?” is one of the lawyer-suggested phrases you give when a cop pulls you over (that and exercising your right to remain silent). So in this case, you can ask all you want, no cop is even present, but a robotaxi run by a corporation can apparently detain you and I guarantee it’s somehow considered perfectly legal because it’s in some fine print. Fucking unbelievably clear collusion between the state and capitalists, while also being a violation of constitutional rights. The robotaxi is acting as judge and jury, while not even being able to solidly prove what’s happening.

In some countries, WhatsApp is the main tool of communication. When I visited Chile years ago, companies had WhatsApp logos on all of their ads, billboards and storefronts. So I get why it’s so difficult to ditch it in those places.

No one does. That’s where we’re at in tech now. It’s never anything any consumer wants, but it’s always what the surveillance industry wants. A recap of my day is fucking useless. I was there, for fuck sake!

I have AdGuard running on the router as a preventative measure, and it’s an older Samsung Q65 that doesn’t have any confirmed 5g modules. I should probably block its MAC address for added security though.

Can’t even eat in peace. Eating at home has become the best option. Just wish groceries were cheaper for everyone. Aldi has filled that void for us recently, and no Flock cameras that I’ve seen.

The Home Depot and Lowe’s cameras aren’t going away, but I’ve noticed those ones face directly into their parking lots and not at streets. So if you have options, hit up a True Value or any of the other hardware stores instead. Their parking lots don’t have these cameras and you’re supporting a co-op instead.

It’s gonna be pretty funny when the bubble bursts and the memory and GPU companies that fucked over their bread-and-butter consumers, have to come groveling back to us in order to prop up their companies once again. I’m so goddamn sick of tech I might try to ride it out with my 2019 laptop for the foreseeable future. If a game doesn’t run on it, it will just become a game I don’t play.

Anything that helps police is an automatic no in my book.
I think this is also tied to a decline in mental faculties. My mom had dementia and I had to dig her out of various situations, like having multiple car warranties, and destroying her inbox by clicking on literally anything. She hit a point where the gates that would validate or invalidate a decision vanished entirely. If a salesperson came to her door, the chances they left without landing a sale were slim to none. They just had to be charismatic and sound positive. It’s the reason she got stuck with one of those whole-house water softeners.
I think AI slop hits similarly. It’s made to tap into their most basic hooks. Religion, family, cute stuff, etc. Their brain drives past any of the gates that we have where we ask why anyone would watch this over actual videos of animals, people, etc. They’re a deer in headlights being entertained by the rudimentary dopamine hits, while all of the technical details go over their heads.
