I’m struggling to think of a situation where you’d be trying to get to that level of granularity of how a single packet is flowing end-end. Can you give an example of why you want to do that?
In all my years I’ve never needed to do that, which is probably pretty common, which I’d guess is why there isn’t an available solution for that.

Alaska has a really interesting rail system that was built during the gold rush specifically to get people into remote parts of the state that were otherwise almost completely inaccessible at the time.
There’s tons of remote villages that don’t have trains still mind you, but my point is that if there’s a will there’s a way. Right now airlines and fuel are subsidized and encouraged by the govt to keep costs down, which relieves development demand for rail. Flip the incentives and rail could theoretically take off in the USA; but that requires politicians with stones and a will to do good instead of… Whatever they are right now.
As a person who still keeps FF7 on a mental pedestal and for ages all I wanted was a remake…
I’m not playing it, I’m not buying it.
It’s a cash grab and I won’t support it even if it pains me.
