• That reminds me that I used to live near a Lidl that piloted this. It was great! I bought reusable containers for milk, fruit juice, detergent, rice, cereal - there was so much, and the machines had a built-in scale that automatically zeroed when you put the container down so you paid for exactly what was dispensed.

  I went back one week to find them disconnected. Apparently they have a problem with some of the locals coming in and drinking straight from the dispensers.

• As someone in another thread pointed out, the Swedish government website has a section explaining - in English - exactly what a British citizen needs to do to remain in Sweden and it explains the routes to permanent residency and Swedish citizenship. The rules for remaining were made clear and these dumb fucks ignored them. No sympathy.

  And complaining that the Swedes have followed the rules exactly as published is like complaining that they wear thick jumpers, make efficient furniture and drink coffee - it’s a stereotype that is also somewhat accurate and part of who they are. If these migrants want to make a foreign country their home they need to integrate themselves into that country’s culture and respect that country’s social norms.

• The plan in the UK is to start charging road tax for EVs per-mile, though there’s ongoing discussions about how that will work in practise it’ll probably be based on the mileage recorded during the vehicle’s annual safety checks (“MOT Test”). This seems reasonable enough to me since ICE vehicles essentially pay per-mile based on the amount of fuel the owners buy.

• This is great! It’s been frankly hard work avoiding using Meta, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads and all of Zuckerberg’s other merciless surveillance and manipulation systems, and now I don’t have to worry about avoiding it any more because I don’t need to give deliberate consent at all, I only need to be within range of someone who has given unwitting consent on my behalf. And inside my own home when I’m my most unguarded and sincere, believing I’m only sharing my thoughts with the people present. What a win!

• Hi guys! Welcome back. So today we’re going to see if we can trigger that unsigned integer underflow bug that some of you have been talking about.
